Doors randomly unlock?

I bought a bZ4X last year, and I've been having a weird problem. Lately, I've been waking up to find my car app says the doors are unlocked. I've noticed this always happens after the car finishes charging.

Has anyone else had this problem? Have you figured out how to fix it?

It is a change-settings job. I think I saw something like "auto unlock after charging is done". Search through the settings.

I haven't experienced this with my bZ4X, but I'd suggest you try a full app reinstall or firmware update? Toyota support might also have insight into a fix.

I’ve had this happen with my Solterra before! It was because the Charging Connector Lock setting was set to “Auto Lock & Unlock” instead of just “Auto Lock.” With the “Auto Lock & Unlock” setting, the connector will unlock automatically when charging finishes, and sometimes it even triggers the car doors to unlock too.

Hah! I got confused. Instead of a notification that the doors have just been unlocked, I mistook this message for a reminder that your doors are unlocked once you leave the car unlocked. Check the settings. I recall seeing auto-unlock once charging was complete.

Same here! I've been driving myself crazy with this. Turns out, there's a setting that automatically unlocks the car once it's finished charging. Check your settings, you might have it enabled without realizing it.

This is the first time I read something like this happen. I guess you can check the settings and check if it's set to auto unlock after charging is done. But do let us know if you've figured it out.

I haven’t had this happen on my bZ4X, but I’d be worried about leaving the car vulnerable overnight if it keeps unlocking on its own. Have you checked if there’s a setting in the app that might be triggering it after charging? Maybe there’s an automation or a ‘welcome’ feature that’s activating unintentionally.

That’s odd! Sounds like your bZ4X is trying to sneak out for a midnight drive after charging. Maybe a quick app reset or update will do the trick. If it keeps happening, Toyota might need to step in and play car detective

That’s definitely odd! I haven't experienced it personally, but it sounds like a setting issue or possibly a software bug. I'd recommend checking the app settings and the car's settings for anything related to automatic unlocking after charging. If that doesn’t fix it, a software update or a trip to the dealer might help!
