I'm definitely not a car expert, so bear with me. But something super weird is happening with my car's parking brake. If I take my seatbelt off for even a second, the parking brake engages instantly, even at high speeds. This can't be normal, right? I use that hold feature, could that be it? I’m worried this could cause an accident. Anyone else experience this?

The parking brake engaging when you remove your seatbelt could be linked to the "hold" feature or a malfunction in the system. It’s best to have it checked by a technician.

Your parking brake shouldn't be engaging at speed when you unbuckle your seatbelt that's dangerous. It's not a normal function and the brake hold feature isn't the cause. You've likely got an electronic problem maybe with the seatbelt sensor or the parking brake system itself. Get your car to a mechanic or dealer immediately.
