Hi!

I disabled the driver monitor camera because it was acting crazy by giving me warnings whenever I was holding only one hand on the middle of the steering wheel.

I thought I had the conditions to drive the way I wanted, but no. Now I get a warning driver monitor is not available message accompanied by a beep (it became annoying instantly). How is that possible considering the camera is off now? I need a solution please!

That is because the DMS is part of other safe features, for example, the lane-keep assisting assist or emergency braking. So, even if you disable the camera, these won't be disabled. And because they rely on that camera, you get those warnings. I hope I made it clear to you.

Ok, I understand now.

In this case, I guess I can't disable all the safety features. Do I have another solution?

You could mess around with the settings for each safety feature or see if there's an option to mute those annoying alerts. If that doesn't work, a dealer might have some other solutions for you.

Even with the camera off you're still getting warnings which is strange. It seems the system might be using other sensors like steering wheel movement or lane departure to check if you're paying attention. Or it could be a software bug where it doesn't recognize the camera is disabled. You;ll probably need to dig into the car's settings to find a way to fully disable the system, not just the camera. If that doesn't work, you might need to take it to the dealer for a reset or software update.
