I’ve been testing out the complimentary AT&T 4G plan in my Toyota bZ4X, and now that the trial is almost up, I’m wondering about the best long-term WiFi setup.

- AT&T charges $20/month for in-car 4G, but it seems to have limited data.
- I have a T-Mobile 5G hotspot for $10/month could I use this instead?
- My plan is to use my bZ4X as a mobile office, so I need a reliable connection at least once a week.

Has anyone tried using an external hotspot instead of the built-in AT&T service? Which setup gives better speed and coverage?

If T-Mobile 5G works well in your area, it’s probably the better option, it’s cheaper, flexible, and works outside the car too. AT&T’s in-car WiFi might have better antenna reception, but if you don’t need it, why pay double? Test the hotspot on a few drives and see if it’s reliable enough for your work needs. If it works, you’re set.
