I’ve been flipping through the BZ4X manual (yeah I know, super exciting!) and found a couple of interesting tidbits. First, it actually tells you not to leave the car fully charged in hot conditions - didn't expect that? Then, there’s this whole “break-in” thing for the first 600 miles where they recommend you avoid going too fast, gunning it, or sticking to the same speed for too long.

Anyone else noticed this and actually stuck to it? I mean, its kind of hilarious that even with all the tech in these modern EVs; they still need thay break-in stuff like old-school cars.

I rarely charge the car to full, so yeah. Also, I am city-driving mostly. It doesn't affect me. But congrats on reading the manual. Not so many do it. 😏

Haha thanks! I guess Im just one of those weirdos who actually reads the manual; even if it’s kinda dry. 😅 But seriuosly, those tidbits definitely threw me off. Like, we’ve got self-driving cars and all the tech, but we’re still getting advice from manuals like it’s the 90s, dealing with clunky gas guzzlers! LOL

I followed the break-in guidelines as much as I could, I figured, why not play it safe? It’s funny because with all the high-tech wizardry in EVs, you wouldn’t expect old-school rules like this. The battery tip about avoiding full charges in hot conditions makes a lot of sense, though. It’s kind of cool that Toyota’s looking out for long-term battery health by including those notes. Have you found anything else interesting in the manual?
