Hello! I got this crazy story for you. I have a friend who is from North Carolina and he bought a Toyota bZ4X about one year ago. After he bought it, customer service called him and told him that he shouldn't have the car, as they weren't selling this car in N Carolina. Apparently, this car was available only in zero emissions states. I wonder if this is still available. Anyway, what do you think about the story? Have a great one!

The bZ4X’s availability was indeed restricted to zero-emissions states when it first launched, likely to meet regulatory goals. Your friend’s experience might be due to a dealer selling it without realizing Toyota’s policy. It’s worth checking if Toyota has changed their distribution strategy since then, I’d imagine they want broader availability now to compete in the EV market. Interesting story, though!

My friend has been on the waitlist for a hybrid for months now, and it's driving him crazy! He's pretty much given up on Toyota until they can get their act together. He's thinking about switching to Honda. He has the cash ready to go, so he's not messing around.

Have you tried checking another dealer in your state using Toyota’s website?

Hey, everyone.
Toyota did have those restrictions at first, but they have expanded the availability of the bZ4X since then. My friend checked, and now they are offering it in North Carolina. I guess things have changed a bit since the early days of the release. That being said, he is still deciding if it is the right fit for him now, considering all the competition coming up in the EV market! Appreciate all the feedback!
