So I just got hit with a "Brake Warning Failure" on my BZ4X after shutting it down a couple of times (had the radio on while I was working inside the car). Pretty sure it’s just the 12V battery being dead, so I jumpstarted it, but the error’s still hanging around.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Also, is there any way to manually charge the 12V battery?

From what I can tell, it seems like the 12V battery charges off the main traction battery, which is making me wonder if letting the car sit idle for a while could cause issues.
Any tips or advice? Appreciate it!

I’ve seen this issue pop up with a low 12V battery on other EVs as well. If the jumpstart didn’t clear the error, the 12V battery might not have fully recharged. You could try connecting a trickle charger to give it a proper charge, which may clear the warning. It’s true that letting the car sit idle too long can drain the 12V, so maybe keep an eye on it if you’re not driving regularly. A quick run every now and then can help keep things topped up! 👍

Yeah, the 12V battery is definitely the issue, you should a full charge or disconnect it briefly

For future events, try avoiding running the 12V battery flat. And also, keep a digital jumper for it. It can be extremely helpful in situations like yours.
